{"id":8978,"date":"2025-11-24T09:21:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T08:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/punta-begona-finalist-for-the-iberian-heritage-awards\/"},"modified":"2025-11-24T09:21:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T08:21:08","slug":"punta-begona-finalist-for-the-iberian-heritage-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/en\/punta-begona-finalist-for-the-iberian-heritage-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Punta Bego\u00f1a, Finalist for the Iberian Heritage Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong>It will compete for first prize at the final ceremony to be held in Sintra, as part of the International Cultural Heritage Biennial.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The international gathering within which these awards are presented, <a href=\"https:\/\/bienalarpa.spira.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Iberian Heritage Biennial<\/strong><\/a> (AR&#038;PA International Fair), is considered <strong>one of the most important forums in Spain and Portugal in this sector<\/strong>, and brings together experts, professionals, and culture enthusiasts from different countries.<\/p>\n<p>The public call for the Award is open to a wide range of candidates, encompassing everything from major museums and foundations to community associations and independent projects.<\/p>\n<p>Every two years, a rigorous selection is made among the dozens of approved applications, nominating the <a href=\"https:\/\/bienalarpa.spira.pt\/finalistas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finalists<\/a> in each of the <strong>categories<\/strong> established in the Guidelines: <strong>Communication, Association, Heritage Routes, Cultural Mediation, and Accessibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the Iberian Biennial, <strong>each of the finalists by category (three in the case of Punta Bego\u00f1a) will present their candidacy before the international jury<\/strong> <em>&#8220;allowing the general public to learn about the best projects in the Cultural Heritage sector in Portugal and Spain.&#8221;<\/em> Likewise, representatives of the nominated projects will participate in various presentations and roundtables with international experts.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7704\" src=\"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA-1024x582.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA-1024x582.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA-768x436.jpg 768w, https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA-1536x872.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pantallazo-ARPA.jpg 1588w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Only two Spanish cultural heritage projects have achieved finalist status.<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In the Best Communication Project category, Fundaci\u00f3n Punta Bego\u00f1a Fundazioa will present <em>&#8220;Open Restoration of Punta Bego\u00f1a. Heritage that Connects Society&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>, competing with the Maritime Museum of Sesimbra and the Court of Appeal of Porto.<\/li>\n<li>For its part, <strong>the project <em>&#8220;Water, Art and Life. Canal de Castilla&#8221;<\/em> will compete for the award in the Cultural Mediation category<\/strong> with the Museum of Portim\u00e3o, Parques de Sintra, and the National Museum of Con\u00edmbriga.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The selection of <a href=\"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/en\/\">Punta Bego\u00f1a<\/a> is based on its approach to knowledge transfer and social participation from the very first step and in each subsequent one.<\/p>\n<p>As stated in the presentation that the Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/puntabegonagetxo.eus\/en\/the-foundation\/\">Fundaci\u00f3n Punta Bego\u00f1a Fundazioa<\/a>, <strong>Mar\u00eda Peraita, will present at the Sintra Biennial<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The recovery of Punta Bego\u00f1a is research, intervention, and social participation.
