Since its inception, the enhancement of the Punta Begoña Galleries has sought to open heritage to the people, making them participants in a complex and exciting process such as the recovery of an iconic monument in the Getxo landscape. Guided tours, landscape routes, concerts, talks, dramatized visits, radio, classes, cinema… follow one another to turn this unique space into a cultural and social benchmark for the municipality.
Since 2017, the OPEN Festival has sought to showcase (and make visible) architectures to the population, with a participatory and transversal spirit that this year 2025 involves more than 600 volunteers and 72 buildings and spaces in the city.
Punta Begoña stands as a mandatory and unique stop in Getxo, within the intense and rich program prepared for this edition, which is also positioned on an international scale through its inclusion in the Open House Europe network.
In addition, on October 2 at 6:15 PM, the Galleries will host an extraordinary activity from the festival program in pursuit of encounter and reflection. Following the inauguration of an architectural-artistic intervention on the facade of Punta Begoña, its author, Diego Sologuren, and two leading guests in the fields of art and architecture, Juan Luis Moraza and Andrea Muniain, will hold a colloquium on memory, heritage, and the urban challenges of tomorrow.
On October 4 and 5, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Punta Begoña Galleries will open their doors. During these five hours, the Festival volunteers will guide visitors on a walk through architectural innovation and heritage sustainability.
