The management model guiding the restoration and enhancement of the Punta Begoña Galleries is built on four key principles:

  • Prior research;
  • The implementation of conservation work in accordance with the Master Plan;
  • Maximising the project’s social value while respecting the monument’s heritage significance;
  • A governance structure that makes all of the above possible, while ensuring the project’s technical, economic and social sustainability throughout the restoration process and well into the future.
In 2021, we established the Punta Begoña Foundation to make this vision a reality.

mission

To contribute to sustainable economic and social development that benefits society as a whole by integrating the protection and conservation of heritage assets into community planning and management, recognising cultural heritage as a resource that can revitalise areas in decline, foster productive synergies between communities, and promote social cohesion and innovation.

vision

To become a leading institution in the integrated management of cultural heritage, where conservation is seen not as the ultimate goal but as an intermediate stage in a much broader process, one in which cultural heritage is recognised as both the repository of a community’s collective memory and a resource that contributes to its economic and social development.
