Beyond the galleries, Punta Begoña is one of the most unique heritage sites in the Basque Country, with a history dating back thousands of years.

Monumental architecture and the innovative construction techniques of the early 20th century are layered over an exceptional coastal and industrial landscape, a geological formation of outstanding importance, remains of early modern fortifications and traces of prehistoric settlements. The result is a rich, complex and turbulent history waiting to be discovered.

To restore Punta Begoña, we launched a project that aimed not only to protect and conserve this unique heritage site, but also to open it up to the public through cultural activities, guided tours and educational programmes.
By bringing together scientific research, rigorous restoration and innovative ways of sharing its heritage, this comprehensive approach has made Punta Begoña an international reference in the conservation and promotion of historical and natural heritage.

Today, Punta Begoña is a living, ever-evolving place that invites visitors to discover its history, understand its surroundings and take part in a unique cultural experience.
