Autumn of Culture at Punta Begoña

The European Heritage Days round off a year-end full of activities.

During Urria, the Punta Begoña Galleries are filled with vibrant culture open to the public; live radio broadcasts; dramatized tours about Horacio Echevarrieta; themes on Ricardo Bastida’s architecture; scenic routes from Punta Galea to Punta Begoña; an architecture festival; artistic interventions and performances; practical sessions for university students; book presentations; talks or live music.

For the second consecutive year, the Punta Begoña Radio and Heritage Cycle has been incorporated into the Official Program of the Council of Europe, an entity that formally congratulated the Fundación Punta Begoña Fundazioa for its contribution to the success of the previous edition.

The website puntabegoñagetxo.eus offers a detailed exhibition of the various scheduled activities, as well as information on how to participate in them.

The second edition of the Radio and Heritage cycle, “Punta Begoña Zuzenean. Live and Direct” brings together every Friday in Urria between 10 AM and 1 PM, and led by Radio Popular, an exceptional cast of professionals, with interviews, performances, dialogues, book and research presentations, music, theater…

With a live audience, the Galleries become a meeting point, broadcast through the airwaves and networks, and through collaboration with international broadcasters.

The architectural tour dedicated to the figure of Ricardo Bastida allows visitors to learn about his professional relevance and the European influence of his works.

And the dramatized tours about Horacio Echevarrieta introduce us to an exceptional figure in economic, political, entrepreneurial, adventurous, sporting, cultural, etc. fields, who will show us the corners of the extraordinary monument from which he transformed the history and society of his time.

The European Heritage Days of Punta Begoña, held during the month of Urria, are another expression of the cultural, artistic, and educational program developed in the Galleries throughout the year and form an essential part of the monument’s recovery process.
