EITB features Punta Begoña as a meeting point for Basque culture

“Through music, we want to give new meaning to places that have experienced conflicts. We have started the journey at Galerías Punta Begoña.”

EiTB Kultura is a program from the Basque public television that showcases artistic expressions developed in the Basque Country and undertakes “a weekly journey through the latest news, trends, and intricacies of creation.”

The program broadcasts pieces treated with beauty and sensitivity, paying attention to both the content and the spaces where they are developed.

And Punta Begoña seemed an ideal place for them to fill with songs, poetry, thought, rap… and to generate artistic pieces where the space enriches the creation.

“Places modify songs, and sometimes they are an additional musician.”

Reflects Amaia Miranda, who, with her voice and guitar, achieved magical sounds in the galleries, in the program broadcast on Urria 11.

In this regard, Punta Begoña seemed an exceptional place to her.

I perceive the energy of the places where I sing, but today is something special, for better or worse,” referring to the acoustics of the main hall and the beauty of the enclave and its surroundings, but also to the “dark past” manifested in the traces of the Francoist occupation.

On Azaroa 29, it was the turn of Laura Sam, whose music and poetry created moments of great sensitivity at Punta Begoña, captured and conveyed delicately by the program.

EiTB Kultura has recorded more contemporary artists here, and the careful editing will lead to new broadcasts throughout 2025.

Quality dissemination for the Galleries, which captures the essence of their objective: to become a meeting place for creation, exhibition, training, and social enjoyment. And it joins the growing proposal from media outlets, audiovisual platforms, film production companies, series, festivals, etc. to locate their projects in a unique enclave.
