The Eitb program “Estamos Rodando” stops at the Galleries and offers viewers “A journey through Basque film settings”.

Led by actor and presenter Jon Plazaola, the Basque public broadcaster “invites you to visit the most spectacular corners of Euskal Herria” by proposing a very special tour of the locations of films and series recorded in our geography.

In the final days of 2025, we were visited by the film crew of the program “Estamos rodando”, which is working on the second season of a format that, in its first season, achieved outstanding audience figures.

The program proposes a journey through Basque settings where films and series have been or are being filmed, in the company of actors, actresses, directors, and other protagonists, “showing the singularities of our land, from cultural heritage to gastronomy, in a different way”.

The title of the program, “Estamos rodando”, which will be broadcast throughout 2026, corresponds to what has been a year in which proposals to film at the Punta Begoña settings have been constant.

The Basque public broadcaster itself has selected the Galleries as an iconic setting, recording and broadcasting videos of emerging and established artists for Eitb Kultura, and renewing the collaboration with the Punta Begoña Foundation.

It has also filmed an episode of the documentary series “Krimenak” or the literary program “Artefaktua”.

Even international production companies have chosen the monument as a setting for series with a global impact such as “Kill Jackie” starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Raff Law; its producer stated he was impressed by the potential of Punta Begoña as an audiovisual setting.

To the extent that works and activities allow, Punta Begoña tries to respond to proposals coming from film, television, radio, social networks, etc.

The recording of “Estamos rodando” at Punta Begoña resulted in spectacular images and very attractive content, because the interest in the monument, its architecture, history, and landscape, narrated by guide Aitor Yanes, was joined by a conversation with Gorka Mínguez, an actor and film director who portrays Horacio Echevarrieta in the theatrical visits to the monument.

The program will be dedicated to films shot in Getxo, taking as inspiration the film “El doble más quince” starring Maribel Verdú. Following the plot of the film, which is based on the relationship between two people who have just met, the recording at Punta Begoña takes the form of a date between the presenter, Jon Plazaola, and the guide, Aitor Yanes.

During the tour, they will “meet” Horacio Echevarrieta, an incomparable figure in the history of Euskadi and promoter of the Galleries, who will share, in a dramatized way, experiences that changed our history.

Heritage, history, film, television, and theater came together in a few magical hours, around the unique scenery offered by Punta Begoña.
