Once again, the Itinerant Visual Arts Exhibition organized by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia chose the Punta Begoña Galleries for its opening, as the premiere of a tour that will visit exhibition venues throughout the Historical Territory.

The proposals of the emerging artists selected in the open call have coexisted throughout the months of Uztaila and Abuztua with the architecture, history, and landscape of Punta Begoña, turning every corner of the monument into a vital space for experimentation and artistic expression.

The Exhibition has enjoyed a significant public response, which also filled the descriptive tours led, in Basque and Spanish, by Oihane Sánchez, PhD in Contemporary Art Research and professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

In 2025, we are attending the 43rd edition of Ertibil, a unique artistic experience in time and space that has established itself as a benchmark in the visual arts due to its capacity to innovate and, at the same time, connect with the public.

The works exhibited at Punta Begoña have included painting in various media such as oil, acrylic, and pastel, as well as video, sculpture, and photography, showcasing the creativity of the award-winning artists Amaya Suberviola, Gabriele Muguruza, and Izaskun Aralucea, and the rest of the selected artists: Leire Aramberri, Leyre Arraiza, Iratxe Barcina, Adrián Castañeda, Mariem Iman, Maider Gonzalo, Pablo Gubbins, Jorge Isla, Antton Goikoetxea, Idoia Leache, Ainhoa Lekerika, Ángela Rodríguez, Beñat Krolem, Elisa Villota, and Judith Voet.

It is significant and rewarding that more and more relevant artistic and cultural events see Punta Begoña as an ideal space for creativity and connection with society.

The Foundation strives to provide the best possible response to these valuable initiatives it receives and, in this sense, after carrying out the structural consolidation works between the monument and the cliff, progress will be made in the coming months on the recovery and rehabilitation of new spaces for these proposals.

During the summer of 2025, Ertibil has inhabited the Galleries, coexisting with theatrical, landscape, historical, and virtual tours, as well as a detailed exhibition in the Flysch Cave, which allows visitors to learn firsthand about the recovery process of Punta Begoña, from its preliminary research, completed, planned, and ongoing interventions, and activities, to the uses and future of the monument.
