Make the most of Getxo’s spectacular coastline on a guided walk with our expert team, following the four-and-a-half-kilometre route between Punta Galea and Punta Begoña.
Along the way, you’ll discover the key milestones in Getxo’s history: the formation of its flysch cliffs, prehistoric settlements, military fortifications, the infrastructure that underpinned its economic growth, and the traces left by the wars, industries, prosperity, intrigue, crises and decline of the past century. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of the important role Getxo has played in the history of Bizkaia and the Basque Country.

*We recommend bringing comfortable shoes and warm clothing or sunscreen.
*It is advisable to come by public transport, as the start (Fuerte la Galea) and end of the route (Galerías Punta Begoña) are distanced.
*IMPORTANT: In case of bad weather, with prior notice, the tour will be moved to Punta Begoña, where historical milestones will be explained in the various spaces of the galleries. In that case, the visit will last 90 minutes.
