Audiovisual and exhibition content on the building’s evolution, the works, and its history will be incorporated for the year 2025.

Throughout 2024, the figure of 100,000 visitors has been exceeded since the reopening of the Punta Begoña Galleries.

Guided tours, family, educational, and tourist visits… have been the usual way of approaching the site. But also exhibitions, festivals, presentations, concerts, plays, fashion shows, forums, or congresses. Furthermore, there is a growing number of proposals from social and cultural groups that see Punta Begoña as an exceptional landscape and setting to develop their initiatives.

During this time, Punta Begoña has been declared a strategic resource of Bizkaia by the Provincial Council, included in the Ethical Tourism Registry by the Basque Government, and defined as a model of good tourism practices by the Department of Tourism.

Punta Begoña does not propose tourism as a primary objective, but rather as a consequence of improving the quality of life of the local population, generating livable spaces for social and cultural enjoyment.

For this reason, the Foundation is already working on the content of the visits for 2025, preparing historical recreations, both physical and audiovisual, which will allow visitors to learn about key events in Punta Begoña, Getxo, and the Abra.

The historical-landscape itineraries “Getxo, from Tip to Tip” will be reinforced due to popular demand, which has forced their extension until the end of the year. Also the theatricalized visits, based on Horacio Echevarrieta and the era he represents.

And the “Open for Works” model will occupy a prominent place, showing interventions carried out to date and those scheduled to face the final phase of the process.
